INTRODUCING THE LUTHERANS

What’s a Lutheran?

In 1517, Pastor Martin Luther put 95 ideas on a church door in Germany, saying God’s grace can’t be bought or earned. He said grace is a free gift for everyone. This started the Reformation, and still influences our faith today.

What do Lutherans believe?

We believe: "All people are imperfect and are saved by God’s grace alone, through Christ… There is no special prayer, no perfect mindset, no good deed required. Grace is a gift. Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, God embraces us in love and sets us free to live gratefully, faithfully, and lovingly." — From the ELCA website.
