Thrivent Financial is a Fraternal Benefit Organization that does not pay taxes. They give money back to the community through their membership through “Thrivent Action Grants” and Thrivent Choice Dollars which can be directed to the charities of their choice. To become a Thrivent member, you become an Associate Member for $20.00 a year by clicking HERE for more info or going to their website at www.thrivent.com. Thrivent members can also own Thrivent products such as life insurance, annuities, mutual funds, etc. Thrivent members who own Thrivent products are able to designate “Thrivent Choice Dollars” to the charity of their choice if that Charity is registered with Thrivent. Churches, St. Jude’s, BSA Troop 425, are some charities registered as Thrivent Choice Charities.

If you donate your Thrivent Choice Dollars to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and want those dollars to be designated to a specific ministry such as the Food and Diaper distribution, property fund, or music fund, please email the church office at (gdeichurch@gdeichurch.org) and Lori Jones (treasurer@gdeichurch.org) stating the amount of the contribution and where you would like it to be designated. Otherwise, any Thrivent Choice dollars donated to Gloria Dei will be applied to the general operating fund. You can also call the office and leave a message at 860-582-0629. You can become a Thrivent Associate Member for $20.00 a year which will qualify you to apply for a Thrivent Action Grant to the charity of your choice also.
