Each of the church committees is responsible for an aspect of church life. They are headed by a leader who serves on the Church Council along with the executive committee. Below is a description of each of these committees.
The Christian Education Committee has the responsibility of overseeing Sunday School and Adult Education. This includes staffing and developing the curriculum for our Sunday School classes and working with St. Andrews Lutheran Church on Vacation Bible School.
The Finance committee is responsible for the oversight of the church budget. This includes preparing and presenting a budget to the church council and monitoring incomes, expenses, and investments throughout the church year.
The Outreach Committee has the responsibility of witnessing the Good News of God’s love to persons within and outside the membership of the congregation. We welcome visitors from the community, and encourage and support new members. We wish to offer to the community a true Christian Congregation.
Parish Life is ever working to find new ways to help each member thrive in a way that serves God and our fellow man. Working with other committees, the Parish Life committee plan activities within our church hoping to involve as many members as possible in activities that promote a vital growing church. On any given Sunday you will find a coffee hour for fellowship because of them. It is their misson to keep our congregation moving, offering opportunities to share meals, serve others, laugh, learn, and grow in relationships that offer a grounded church family home.
The Property committee is responsible for oversight of the properties, building and grounds of our church. If you would like to assist with the property maintenance, please contact us via the church office.
Gloria Dei responds by putting those words into action. When people are at their most vulnerable, we respond with care and compassion, ready to serve and love our neighbor. This is Christ’s church. There is a place for you here. We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person — questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God’s work in Christ’s name for the life of the world.
WORSHIP AND MUSIC
The Worship & Music Committee is responsible for most aspects of the traditional, contemporary and special worship services, as well as the overseeing of the music program at Gloria Dei. We meet on the second Sunday of each month in the library between the two services. All are welcome to sit in on our meetings and we certainly encourage anyone interested in joining us to come. There is always room for more members, opinions and suggestions regarding both our music and our worship programs!
